POSITION SUMMARY:

The Licensed HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across Mainline Health Systems, Inc. facilities. This position helps ensure a safe, comfortable, compliant, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors by maintaining proper temperature control, airflow, ventilation, and equipment performance in clinical and administrative settings. The Facilities Technician employee is involved in continuous Quality Improvement practices and measures as set by Mainline Health Systems, Inc.

and in which the practice focus is based on a Patient Centered Medical Home model of care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across Mainline Health Systems, Inc. facilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including filters, belts, coils, compressors, thermostats, motors, ventilation components, ductwork, controls, and related equipment.
  • Maintain a planned HVAC maintenance schedule for all assigned MHSI facilities and document completed work, repairs, inspections, and follow-up needs.
  • Respond to HVAC-related work orders, urgent repair requests, and temperature-control concerns in clinical and administrative areas.
  • Ensure HVAC systems support a safe, comfortable, and appropriate healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot airflow, ventilation, temperature, humidity, and equipment performance issues that may impact clinic operations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, inspectors, and equipment representatives as needed to ensure quality work, timely repairs, and compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Assist with HVAC planning related to renovations, expansions, equipment replacement, clinic openings, and facility upgrades.
  • Maintain HVAC tools, equipment, parts, and inventory in a safe, organized, and cost-conscious manner.
  • Follow applicable safety practices, manufacturer guidance, code requirements, and organizational policies when performing HVAC work.
Facility Maintenance Support:
  • Assist with general facility maintenance and repairs as directed by the Maintenance Manager or assigned supervisor.
  • Support safe and orderly clinic environments by helping ensure exam rooms, nurse stations, common areas, equipment rooms, mechanical spaces, and exterior areas are maintained appropriately.
  • Perform or assist with facility upgrades, minor construction-related tasks, painting, pressure washing, equipment installation, and other maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Communicate facility issues, safety concerns, equipment failures, and repair needs promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Work with other maintenance team members to complete assigned projects across multiple Mainline locations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working in clinical areas, administrative offices, and patient-facing spaces.
Safety, Documentation, and Communication:
  • Maintain accurate records of HVAC maintenance, repairs, inspections, vendor work, equipment inventories, and replacement recommendations.
  • Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures, ladder safety, electrical safety, refrigerant handling requirements, and other applicable safety standards.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required and maintain a safe work area for staff, patients, visitors, and vendors.
  • Operate MHSI vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and responsibly while traveling between facilities.
  • Attend assigned meetings as necessary to represent Mainline Health Systems, Inc. and communicate maintenance needs or updates.
