Position Overview
The CNC Programmer II is responsible for all CNC programs for manufacturing equipment directly impacting the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division. This position significantly impacts Rexnord’s ability in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. It reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is a Non-Exempt hourly technical position.
Key Responsibilities- Write programs to machine complex parts to very close tolerances on multiple axes on various machining centers.
- Work on horizontal machining centers with macro, subprogram, and variable programming knowledge.
- Program 4‑axis, 5‑axis, Y‑axis lathes and vertical machining centers, large and small.
- Provide shop‑floor problem solving.
- Participate in Kaizen activities such as SMDE, VSM, 5‑S, etc.
- Maintain program libraries and review revision status of program revisions per NADCAP requirements.
- Assist shop associates in uploading and downloading programs and have hands‑on knowledge of program storage.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field desired or 5+ years of manufacturing/industrial technical experience, programming CNC equipment required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to extract critical data and analyze data to make informed business decisions.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills (CAD/CAM, AutoCAD, Shop Cam, Solid Works, Master Cam, word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.).
- Skilled in G and M code editing, macro style programming, multi‑axis functionality, and Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak controllers.
- Proficient in time and project management.
- Self‑starter working with little direct supervision.
- Team‑oriented with ability to influence others without authority.
