Manufacturing Engineer

Work Model

This is a fully onsite role performed at the designated Regal Rexnord office in Monticello, IN, supporting the operations of a $40million business that manufactures mechanical aerospace components.

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will assist in setup and troubleshooting of grinding equipment, order tooling, and support quality personnel to improve manufacturing cost, output, safety, and quality. The role will collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and vendors to implement process improvements, reduce cycle times, and maintain controlled setup cards.

• Assign work to production operators and provide instruction on procedures and gaging methods.
• Assist in setups and troubleshooting on grinding equipment, understanding wheel capabilities, speeds, and feeds.
• Provide second‑approval reviews to ensure jobs comply with routing and print requirements.
• Submit work orders for down equipment and help set priority.
• Coordinate vendor engagement and scheduling with Maintenance.
• Work with Engineering on process improvements such as quick change‑overs, standard work procedures, stock reductions, and cycle reductions.
• Support new part setups (machines and rates) and new machine design/application.
• Order grinding tooling (grinding wheels, diamonds, jaws, drivers, quills, diamond rolls).
• Perform first‑piece approval per set‑up approval process.
• Operate precision measuring equipment.
• Adhere to ethics, safety, export/import security, environmental compliance, and AS9100 standards.

• Grinding knowledge and experience.
• Programming of CNC grinders and CNC turning machines.

• Education:
  
  Technical degree or equivalent related experience.
• Travel:
  Approximately 10%.
• Computer skills:
  Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix and team environment.
• Regular attendance.
