Job Details
Monticello, IA 52310 – 10p‑6a RN, Friday & Saturday nights, with opportunity for additional week hours. Part‑time with guaranteed hours.
OverviewAs a Registered Nurse you will oversee residents’ health, implement care plans, and provide expert nursing care in a compassionate, transparent, and collaborative environment.
ResponsibilitiesResident Care & Assessment
- Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ health status, including physical, mental, and emotional well‑being.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on health needs and goals.
- Monitor health conditions, document changes, and communicate findings to physicians and the care team.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments with accuracy and compliance.
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other advanced treatments as required.
- Perform routine medical procedures such as taking vitals, administering injections, and dressing wounds according to protocol.
Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities
- Supervise and support nursing staff (CNAs, LPNs) ensuring efficient care delivery.
- Provide guidance and training to maintain high standards and protocol compliance.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with leadership to maintain optimal resident care.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Educate residents and families on care plans, treatment options, and preventative measures.
- Coordinate care with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other professionals to enhance the resident experience.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records for each resident.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and all state and federal regulations.
- Participate in care audits and review processes for quality improvement.
Emergency Response & Crisis Management
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies.
- Provide immediate interventions and stabilize residents in critical situations.
Education
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred. - Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
License & Certifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Iowa.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or to be obtained upon hire).
- Additional certifications (wound care, IV therapy) may be required or preferred.
Experience
- Previous nursing experience in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings.
- Experience in supervisory roles and leadership is a plus.
