Registered Nurse - Weekend Nights

Job Details

Monticello, IA 52310 – 10p‑6a RN, Friday & Saturday nights, with opportunity for additional week hours. Part‑time with guaranteed hours.

As a Registered Nurse you will oversee residents’ health, implement care plans, and provide expert nursing care in a compassionate, transparent, and collaborative environment.

Resident Care & Assessment

• Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ health status, including physical, mental, and emotional well‑being.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on health needs and goals.
• Monitor health conditions, document changes, and communicate findings to physicians and the care team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments with accuracy and compliance.
• Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other advanced treatments as required.
• Perform routine medical procedures such as taking vitals, administering injections, and dressing wounds according to protocol.

Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nursing staff (CNAs, LPNs) ensuring efficient care delivery.
• Provide guidance and training to maintain high standards and protocol compliance.
• Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with leadership to maintain optimal resident care.

Communication & Collaboration

• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Educate residents and families on care plans, treatment options, and preventative measures.
• Coordinate care with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other professionals to enhance the resident experience.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records for each resident.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and all state and federal regulations.
• Participate in care audits and review processes for quality improvement.

Emergency Response & Crisis Management

• Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies.
• Provide immediate interventions and stabilize residents in critical situations.

Education

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
  Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program.

License & Certifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Iowa.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or to be obtained upon hire).
• Additional certifications (wound care, IV therapy) may be required or preferred.

Experience

• Previous nursing experience in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings.
• Experience in supervisory roles and leadership is a plus.
