Education 1:1 ESS (Education Support Specialist) – Pinewood Elementary School
Hours: 6.75 hours per day, Monday through Friday

Job DescriptionPinewood Elementary School is seeking a caring, dependable Education Support Specialist to support a student with identified health needs. This position plays an important role in ensuring the student’s safety, well-being, and access to learning throughout the school day.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care and daily support for a student with health needs in accordance with medical plans and district guidelines
- Monitor the student’s well-being and communicate concerns promptly to appropriate staff
- Collaborate with teachers, nurses, administrators, and families to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
- Assist with supervision and other school-related duties as assigned
One of the following qualifications is required. Those who do not meet a required qualification are encouraged to apply as the Para Educator Test can be completed during the application/interview process.
- Associate’s degree
- 60 semester college credits
- Passing score on the Para Educator test
- Ability to follow health care plans and maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication skills and a student-centered mindset
- Dependable, flexible, and able to respond to student needs throughout the day
- Passionate about working with children
- Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
- Supervise students as directed by the supervisor
- Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the district’s strategic plan
- Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
- Experience working with diverse students and families

Compensation & ApplicationHourly Pay Range: $17.68 - $26.40
