Overview

Centrally located on Interstate 94 less than 25 miles northwest of Maple Grove and 30 miles southeast of Saint Cloud, Monticello is home to five brick and mortar schools and two nature-based facilities serving more than 4,000 students annually. Pinewood Elementary School

Full time (1.0 FTE) position - Temporary

Available: 03/23/2026 through 06/06/2026

The School Counselor provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.

• Current School Counselor license with the Minnesota Department of Education required

• Experience working with elementary school students

• Awareness of best practices for counseling/procedures
• Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism and ethical practices
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families
• Experience working with diverse students and families
• Assist with supervision of students during non-academic education activities
