Summary of Job Duties
The Assistant Professor of Nursing accepts the responsibility of maintaining high standards of quality nursing education. The faculty member is a member of university faculty at large, with all rights, freedoms, privileges, and responsibilities of every other faculty member. Nursing faculty members are responsible for adhering to the regulation in the UAM Faculty Handbook and the School of Nursing Faculty Handbook.
Responsibilities include collaborating with peers to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum; participating in academic advising; maintaining security and confidentiality of all records and exams; attending meetings as scheduled; participating in student and peer evaluations; maintaining appropriate student records; maintaining office hours consistent with university policy; serving as a professional role model for students; participating in scholarly activities; promoting goals, objectives, and reputation of the SON, University, and community;
and other duties as assigned by the School of Nursing Dean.
Masters degree required; major in nursing and teaching experience preferred; applicants enrolled in a master’s program may be considered. Current unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Arkansas or a compact agreement state. A background check and drug screen are required.
Salary InformationCommensurate with education and experience
