Job Title: Project Manager II

Compensation: $62.00 hourly

System One is seeking Project Manager II to support capital facilities and construction projects at one of its nuclear generating facilities. This role delivers upgrades, equipment replacements, building/facility modifications, long‑term plan development, and other capital improvements. Projects typically range from $100K to multi‑million‑dollar investment levels and require strict adherence to nuclear, regulatory, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full lifecycle (“cradle‑to‑grave”) execution of facilities, construction, and capital improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain scopes of work, schedules, budgets, long‑term project plans, and funding requests.
- Lead project controls activities including cost tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, documentation, and reporting.
- Interface daily with plant stakeholders: engineering, maintenance, operations, supply chain, controls, finance, and leadership.
- Manages 5–10 concurrent projects, coordinating internal stakeholders, engineering, maintenance, construction, contractors, and vendors while ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management requirements.
- Source, contract, manage, and coordinate suppliers and external contractors.
- Prepare and deliver project presentations to leadership, including authorization and funding approvals.
- Conduct field walkdowns and plant observations for risk mitigation, constructability, and issue resolution.
- Support risk management, quality assurance, safety compliance, and nuclear regulatory expectations.
- 5–7 years of facilities, construction, utility, power plant, or commercial nuclear power project management experience.
- Demonstrated success managing projects $1M.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with project controls and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with PMI/PMBOK (Waterfall/Predictive) methodologies.
- Ability to obtain unescorted nuclear access, which includes:
- Federal background investigation
- Fitness for Duty testing (drug & alcohol)
- Compliance with NRC Access Authorization requirements
- U.S. citizenship (required).
- Construction or Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Nuclear) from an ABET accredited program.
- Commercial nuclear or utility/power plant experience.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle Unifier, Workday/UKG, MS Project, or Primavera P6.
Primarily onsite at the assigned nuclear facility (Prairie Island or Monticello).
Typical hours: 40 hrs./week, standard business hours.
Outage periods require 60 hrs./week, often 12 hour days, 6–7 days/week.
