Job Summary

The Maintenance Support Technician provides essential support to the maintenance team by assisting in the upkeep, cleanliness, and basic operation of facility equipment and systems. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals looking to grow into more technical maintenance roles in a food manufacturing environment. The role includes hands‑on work, learning opportunities, and exposure to systems such as pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical processes used in cheese production.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist technicians with planned and unplanned maintenance tasks on facility and production equipment.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop and mechanical areas.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to work areas.
  • Assist in minor mechanical tasks such as lubrication, belt changes, and filter replacement.
  • Support routine checks of air compressors, boilers, HVAC units, and other facility systems.
  • Maintain proper documentation of tasks and work completed under supervision.
  • Follow all Sabrosura Foods safety policies, including Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out (LOTO), PPE usage, and GMPs.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to grow technical knowledge.
  • Perform general tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or technicians.
  • Perform all maintenance work accurately and in a timely manner, verifying correct materials from the Maintenance Parts Inventory as needed to ensure all quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Maintain communication with Maintenance Supervisor and co‑workers as needed to report any ongoing safety and equipment issues, and to include any building and ground deficiencies that affect each shift performance.
  • Demonstrate ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
  • Consistently show ability to anticipate, recognize, and deal with changing situations, obstacles, & priorities in a positive manner.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in an industrial maintenance setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable attendance and time management.
  • Willingness to work in hot, cold, or humid environments typical of dairy and cheese production.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Good organizational skills: demonstrated ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Practical problem‑solving skills.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or production support is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform heavy, physical work, exercising up to 50 pounds of strength frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to substantially move wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the purpose of adjusting machine parts and computer operations.
  • Must be able to work in a production environment with exposure to food ingredients, water, and cleaning chemicals.

8am-5pm Monday through Friday, will be moved around to different shifts to get full experience
