Responsible for reviewing daily orders, preparing and replenishing products in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner. Provide courteous customer service and maintain a positive company image.

• Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
• Smiles and greets customers, addresses them by name when possible.
• Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing items that are out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Review the status and appearance of food for freshness.
• Review orders for the day.
• Take customer orders at the bakery counter.
• Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and neat.
• Ensure adequate food supply is ready and on hand; develop or follow a production list.
• Anticipate product needs daily.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from cooler/freezer to prepare for baking.
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed.
• Operate department registers, receive payment, make change, etc., where applicable.
• Remove trash in a timely manner.
• Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time.
• Wash dishes as necessary.
• Order product and supplies as necessary.
• Price products for customers as necessary.
• Deliver orders as needed.
• Assist in other areas of store as needed.
• Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.

• Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copy figures, count and record.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, write identifying information, request supplies orally or in writing.

Less than high school or equivalent, plus six months of similar or related work experience.

• Ability to perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
• Visual requirements: clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet, with or without correction; color vision, depth perception and field of vision.
• Perform activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Performed in a store environment with significant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Exposure to flour dust, noise, cleaning chemicals/solvents, electrical shock and temperature extremes.

• Standard bakery equipment: mixers, ovens, wrapping, label printer, cash register, telephone, dishwasher, bread slicer, electric knife, microwave, airbrush, copycat.

• Daily contact with the general public and customers.
• Contact with federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
