- Smiles and greets customers, addresses them by name when possible.
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing items that are out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
- Review the status and appearance of food for freshness.
- Review orders for the day.
- Take customer orders at the bakery counter.
- Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and neat.
- Ensure adequate food supply is ready and on hand; develop or follow a production list.
- Anticipate product needs daily.
- Prepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary.
- Pull product from cooler/freezer to prepare for baking.
- Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed.
- Operate department registers, receive payment, make change, etc., where applicable.
- Remove trash in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.
- Report to work when scheduled and on time.
- Wash dishes as necessary.
- Order product and supplies as necessary.
- Price products for customers as necessary.
- Deliver orders as needed.
- Assist in other areas of store as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copy figures, count and record.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions, write identifying information, request supplies orally or in writing.
Less than high school or equivalent, plus six months of similar or related work experience.
Physical Requirements- Ability to perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
- Visual requirements: clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet, with or without correction; color vision, depth perception and field of vision.
- Perform activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Performed in a store environment with significant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Exposure to flour dust, noise, cleaning chemicals/solvents, electrical shock and temperature extremes.
Equipment Used- Standard bakery equipment: mixers, ovens, wrapping, label printer, cash register, telephone, dishwasher, bread slicer, electric knife, microwave, airbrush, copycat.
- Daily contact with the general public and customers.
- Contact with federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
