We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Montpelier, Vermont or Addison, TX . This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and supporting month-end close processes. The ideal Sr. Accountant candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of GAAP and STAT principles.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

- Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

- Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.

- Monitor adherence to GAAP and STAT accounting standards in all financial processes.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting issues and improve processes.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

- Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for audits and internal reviews.

- Assist with the preparation of financial reports for management review.

Requirements

- Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Strong proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.

- Expertise in bank reconciliation and resolving financial discrepancies.

- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting standards.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- CPA required

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
