Are you passionate about Vermont food and agriculture? The Administration Division inside the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets (VAAFM) is seeking a Financial Administrator III to oversee payments and financial reporting for the Vermont Agriculture and Timber Disaster Assistance Program as well as other related duties for the Agency's existing business office. The ideal candidate will be an independent and detail-oriented self-starter.
Prior audit experience, knowledge of grants and contracts, VTBuys, VISION, and Excel are preferred. Work is performed in a standard office setting and under the general direction of the Financial Director I.

Financial Administrator III - Limited Service (Job Requisition #55601), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Work is performed in a standard office setting.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting AND one (1) year of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards
OR
Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field AND four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.
OR
Two (2) year as a Financial Administrator II with the State of Vermont.
NOTE:
CPA certificate is considered qualifying.
For some positions preference may be given to applicants with supervisory experience.
Special RequirementsFor some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont People Soft financial management system) may be required.
