The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Supervising Procurement Specialist within the Office of Purchasing.
Under the New Jersey Civil Service Commission this role is initially provisional; the employee will need to pass a civil service examination to become permanent.
DEFINITION: Under direction of a supervisory official in a state or local government department, institution, or agency, the Supervisor oversees the performance of complex professional work including specification development, bid preparation, evaluation, recommendation, quality assurance, and execution of contract awards in a centralized procurement environment; additional related duties may also be required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSNOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits equal one (1) year of relevant experience.
NOTE: “Professional experience” refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires specialized knowledge and the authority to act independently.
LICENSE: A valid New Jersey driver’s license is required only if vehicle operation is necessary for essential duties.
