Overview

The HR Reporting & Compliance Analyst provides reporting, research, and evaluation work for the Department of Human Resources (DHR). This position is a part of the DHR reporting team that designs, develops, configures, and tests simple to complex custom reports utilizing employee personnel and payroll data to support business needs for all branches, agencies and departments of state government. This role involves collaborating with clients to understand their reporting needs, translating those needs into technical specifications, and ensuring reports are accurate, efficient, and secure.

The team is responsive to information requests from legal staff, including public records requests. This role will provide support for compliance data collection and reporting activities required to fulfill federal reporting requirements. Data requests are frequently of a confidential or sensitive nature and require extra care to ensure data is presented in a summary fashion to maintain confidentiality. Extensive contact occurs with division team members, department program staff, operations staff, configuration analysts, and systems developers.

Regular contact with managers and employees from other agencies and departments. Duties are performed under the direction of an administrative supervisor.

Key responsibilities include developing custom reports in the HCM database, generating and validating data files and reports, and conducting peer reviews to maintain data integrity.

This position is based in Montpelier, VT and a hybrid telework schedule may be approved based on the needs of the team, with some time in the office required.

Duties are typically performed in an office setting with normal working conditions. Depending upon duties assigned, some travel may be necessary, for which private transportation may be needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information management, or related field.

OR

Four (4) or more years of experience in human resources, finance, or information management INCLUDING experience working with complex regulations, software systems, business analysis, statistics, and/or data administration.

Preferred Qualifications

College degree or coursework in relevant field.

Experience with data reporting.

Experience with software query tools.

Experience with Work Day, People Soft, Excel, and/or Access.

Strong customer service abilities.
