The Vermont Department of Financial Regulation is seeking a Consumer Services Specialist II. This is an opportunity to join the Consumer Services Section of the Insurance Division, which helps Vermonters navigate insurance issues and resolve insurance complaints. The ideal candidate is an insurance professional with an understanding of or the willingness and ability to learn complex insurance laws, regulations, and policy provisions.
Consumer Services investigates and mediates insurance complaints and provides educational outreach to the public, so a candidate must be an effective communicator, able to explain complex issues clearly, and mediate conflicts with professionalism and empathy. If you're motivated by helping others and making a tangible difference for Vermonters, this is a deeply rewarding position.
As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 22 will be $26.50 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $41.37 per hour.
