Job Title: Racial Justice Alliance Club Co-Advisor

Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $1,100 to $1,435 per year (Montpelier-Roxbury Negotiated Agreement)
Job DescriptionMontpelier High School is seeking a co‑advisor for our Racial Justice Alliance student group. Our school community is committed to promoting anti‑racist actions, dispositions and community dialogue addressing anti‑racism and equity.
Responsibilities- Support student leadership with strategy and analysis for anti‑racist and racial/social justice activism
- Support students’ understanding, skills, and engagement in systems change endeavors related to anti‑racism and equity
- Attend and support the facilitation of meetings related to organizing, advocacy, and responding to emerging needs in the school community
- Work in conjunction with MRPS administrators and teachers to collaboratively increase student voice and engagement in anti‑racism and equity actions
- Co‑facilitate a weekly RJA student session on Fridays from 1:00‑1:45 at MHS
- Engage in related communications, planning and actions between meetings
- Maintains and promotes anti‑racist values, dispositions and actions
- Past experience with anti‑racist, equity and racial/social justice issues
- Connections to racial and social justice activists throughout the state
- Prioritizes and advocates for student voice and leadership
- Able to hold space and facilitate student voice and planning activities with young adults
- Eager and willing to add their knowledge, life experiences and skills to our community
- Effective and flexible communicator with students, MHS staff and community partners
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
