This position will act as Vermont's technical and administrative representative to the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a multi-state cap-and-trade program designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the power sector. As RGGI representative, this position will manage Vermont's allowances, participate in regularly scheduled working groups, and provide briefings to leadership. Further, this position will coordinate with counterparts in other states through participation in relevant regional and national working groups on themes such as greenhouse gas emissions reporting and modeling.

Experience with greenhouse gas emissions modeling and familiarity with market-based emissions reduction programs will be important for success in this position. Project management and communication skills, specifically as it relates to translating technical information into plain language, will also be important. Proficiency in Excel is required. The position's duty station is located in Montpelier.
