Director of Technology Finance & Vendor Governance

Our client, a well-established and highly respected financial services organization, is seeking a Director of Technology Finance & Vendor Governance to join its executive technology leadership team.

This is a rare opportunity for a finance leader with a strong technology background to operate at the intersection of IT finance, contract management, vendor governance, and strategic technology operations while partnering directly with executive leadership.

Member of the CIO Executive Leadership Team

High visibility and influence across enterprise technology initiatives

Direct impact on technology strategy, financial planning, and business outcomes

Opportunity to build and mature vendor governance capabilities in a heavily outsourced environment

Blend of finance, technology, operations, contracts, and executive leadership

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and executive reporting for the technology organization
• Manage technology spend, accruals, variance analysis, and financial controls
• Partner with IT leaders to drive strategic investment decisions and financial accountability

• Review, negotiate, and manage technology agreements including:
• Software contracts
• Cloud services agreements
• MSAs and SOWs
• Partner closely with Legal and technology leadership throughout the contract lifecycle

• Establish and enhance vendor governance frameworks
• Drive supplier performance management and accountability
• Oversee service-level monitoring and vendor relationship management
• Support a complex technology ecosystem with extensive third-party service providers

• IT Controllership
• CIO Finance Organizations

• Large technology budgets
• Forecasting and planning processes

Hands-on experience negotiating technology contracts and commercial agreements

Ability to influence executive stakeholders while remaining highly engaged in day-to-day execution

• Big Four CPA who transitioned into industry
• IT Finance Director
• Finance Transformation Leader
• Technology Consulting Finance Leader
• Corporate Finance professional supporting a CIO organization

• Insurance industry experience
• Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) exposure

We're looking for a hands-on CPA with deep technology finance expertise who can effectively manage technology budgets, negotiate complex technology contracts, build vendor governance programs, and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.

This is not a traditional finance leadership role focused solely on oversight. The ideal candidate enjoys rolling up their sleeves and actively participating in financial operations, commercial negotiations, and vendor management activities.

Up to $200,000
