Position: Canada Contract and Proposals Team Manager
Location: MontrealDescription and Requirements
Key Responsibilities
French/English Speaking Required
Contract Management (Cradle-to-Grave)
Lead and oversee the full contract lifecycle across all Canadian provinces, including:
Intake, assessment, and contract strategy development
Drafting, redlining, and negotiation of contracts
Risk identification, mitigation, and escalation
Alignment with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders
Contract execution, documentation, and record management
Post-award administration, amendments, renewals, and closeoutEnsure all contracts comply with applicable provincial laws, regulations, and internal policiesServe as the primary escalation point for proposal and contractual mattersDrive standardization and continuous improvement of contract processes, templates, and toolsDevelop and implement Canada-specific supplemental processes and procedures to address provincial legal and regulatory requirements, where gaps exist
Evaluate and streamline processes to avoid duplication, fragmentation, or unnecessary regional deviationTeam Leadership & Development
Manage, mentor, and grow a small but expanding team of contracts and proposal professionalsSet clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans for team members in line with Geo Specific KPI’sFoster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable team cultureProvide coaching on contract strategy, negotiation, compliance, and stakeholder managementSupport resource planning and scaling of the team in line with business growthProposal Support (Overflow / Strategic Contribution)
Provide hands-on support for proposal development during peak periods or resource gapsReview and contribute to proposal content to ensure alignment with contractual and compliance requirementsPartner with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and competitive submissionsStakeholder & Portfolio Management
Act as a strategic partner to sales, legal, finance, and regional teamsManage a portfolio of contracts and proposals, balancing priorities and deadlines across provincesCommunicate risks, timelines, and dependencies clearly to stakeholdersNavigate ambiguity and evolving requirements while maintaining delivery quality and complianceCompliance & Risk Management
Ensure strict adherence to regulatory, legal, and organizational compliance standardsMaintain strong knowledge of provincial contractual laws and regulations across CanadaImplement best practices in audit readiness, documentation, and governanceIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities for process or policy improvementsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related field.5+ years of experience in contract management, commercial negotiations, or related roles.French/English written and oralPreferred QualificationsStrong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management principles.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems.Advanced degree (JD, MBA) or equivalent experience.Experience in technology or IT services industry.Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and complex pricing structures.Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Additional Locations:
