Summary Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager – PPH Aftermarket Finance, the Finance Manager will support the aftermarket department, specifically within the FMP (Fleet Maintenance Plan) team.

The individual will serve as a business partner. As such, the financial manager plays a key role in the financial management of complex, long-term contracts in a high-volume environment. He or she acts as a business partner to the sales and operations teams to support decision-making, ensure the profitability of agreements, and secure financial commitments throughout the life of the contracts.

The person will also liaise with the offshore team.

Main Responsibilities

Financial modeling and proposal support

  • Participate in establishing new contracts with major industry players operating fleets of engines:
    • Develop and maintain advanced financial models (Excel) to support client proposals
    • Develop various scenarios to guide business decisions
    • Validate and challenge models prepared by the sales teams before contract signing
    • Participate in the structuring and review of agreements

Financial management of contracts

  • Responsible for ensuring that contracts are properly executed from a revenue recognition perspective:
    • Participate in the review of contracts to ensure compliance with negotiated terms and limit future risks
    • Monitor financial parameters (rates, billing, maintenance reserves, etc.)
    • Support contractual adjustments (e.g., asset transfers, sales, changes to terms)
    • Address special situations (e.g., customer default)
    • Conduct analyses to estimate the final profitability of contracts over their lifetime

Forecasting and Financial Monitoring

  • Validate monthly reconciliations and participate in the month-end process;
  • Participate in the budgeting process;
  • Prepare variance analyses (actual vs. budget/forecasts)
Required Qualifications

Education

  • Hold a recognized accounting designation (CPA)

Professional Experience

  • At least 7 to 8 years of experience in a large or medium-sized company
  • Experience in an accounting firm
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Experience managing internal clients

Skills

  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or another major ERP system (a plus)
  • Process improvement and automation (a plus)
  • Experience with Power BI (a plus)
  • Bilingual in both spoken and written French and English

Specific Skills

  • Demonstrates an interest in the industry
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
  • Able to manage large databases and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
