Join the Senate in Ottawa as a Senior Editor specializing in French documents. Lead the editing process and enhance the quality of legislative publications for wide-reaching impact.
This full-time role involves supervising the editing of Senate debates and committee proceedings. As a senior member of the editing team, you will engage in critical editorial decisions, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure linguistic accuracy across all publications. Your expertise in editing techniques and parliamentary standards will be vital to the success of our documentation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead editorial review of committee meeting transcripts
• Edit and prepare Senate publications for dissemination
• Check documents for compliance with language standards
• Assist with training junior editors on procedures
• Collaborate with internal teams for quality assurance
Requirements:
• University degree or equivalent experience
• At least five years in editing parliamentary documents
• Extensive knowledge of style and proofreading techniques
• Experience with stakeholder collaboration
• Skills in XML application editing are a plus
