As an Ottawa-based journalist with strong ties to the Parliamentary Press Gallery, you will enrich Cabin Radio’s coverage of national discoveries impacting the Northwest Territories. This permanent role requires a seasoned political reporter or northern journalist willing to amplify northern voices in Canada’s national discourse. You'll be responsible for uncovering unique stories that connect Ottawa developments to northern communities, using your communication and collaboration skills effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report on national politics from an NWT perspective

• Elevate northern issues in the national narrative

• Communicate clearly with colleagues in Yellowknife

• Conduct interviews to provide insights from the North

• File exclusive stories that stand out

Requirements:

• Experience in political reporting or northern journalism

• Strong understanding of federal and Indigenous politics

• Excellent communication and collaborative skills

• Willingness to travel between Ottawa and Yellowknife
