About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for financial administration including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and day‑to‑day transactions to ensure that the financial objectives are met and accounting procedures are carried out.
What You'll Do Here- Oversight of finance activities within a business unit or functional area, including financial reporting, budgeting, and taxation.
- Coordinate the close‑off process and prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and related schedules & notes.
- Consolidation of joint arrangements for financial statement preparation.
- Work effectively with, influence and support project teams, joint arrangements & JV Partners.
- Implement and manage internal control procedures.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
- Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in concert with the respective business partners.
- Investigate and analyse departmental variances from budgets/forecast on a monthly/quarterly basis working closely with business partners.
- Support accounting research to provide recommendations, ensuring the Company complies with all areas of IFRS and with Aecon policies and procedures.
- Enhance applicable finance processes and support process improvement initiatives to achieve financial goals and improve efficiency and profitability.
- Mentor and develop the finance team.
- Build a strong network across various teams to handle a wide range of analytical and operational issues.
- Support preparation of financial presentations and analyses for the leadership team.
- Support preparation of ad‑hoc financial analyses (including what‑if scenario analysis) as required.
- 5+ years of professional finance experience, preferably in the Construction industry.
- Degree in Accounting or Business Management required.
- Canadian accounting designation CPA required.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and percentage of complet ion accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a leadership capacity.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute multiple tasks under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
- Strong knowledge of financial management is required.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environ ment.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast‑paced environ ment within a small team.
- Bilingual French/English required.
- La surveillance des activits financires au sein d'une unit commerciale ou d'un secteur fonctionnel pourrait inclure l'information financire, la budgtisation, la fiscalit.
- Coordonner le processus de clture et prparer des tats financiers mensuels consolids et des annexes et notes connexes.

- Enquter et analyser les carts ministriels par rapport aux budgets et aux prvisions sur une base mensuelle ou trimestrielle en travaillant en troite collaboration avec les partenaires commerciaux.
- Impliqu dans le soutien de la recherche comptable pour fournir des recommandations, en veillant ce que la Socit se conforme tous les domaines des IFRS et conformment aux politiques et procdures tablies d'Aecon.
- Amliorer les processus financiers applicables et soutenir les initiatives d'amlioration des processus afin d'atteindre les objectifs financiers et d'amliorer l'efficacit et la rentabilit.
- Encadrer et dvelopper l'quipe des finances.
- Construire un rseau solide au sein de diverses quipes pour grer un large ventail de problmes analytiques et oprationnels.
- Soutenir la prparation de prsentations et d'analyses financires pour l'quipe de direction.
- Appuyer la prparation d'analyses financieres ponctuelles (y compris l'analyse de scnarios hypothtiques) au besoin pour appuyer les partenaires commerciaux.
- 5 ans d'exprience en finance professionnelle, de prfrence dans l'industrie de la construction.
- Diplme en comptabilit ou en gestion d'entreprise requis.
- CPA canadien requis.
- Solide connaissance des IFRS et de la comptabilit du pourcentage d'achvement.
- Capacit dmontre de performer dans une capacit de leadership.
- Solides comptences en planification et en organisation.
- Capacit hirarchiser et excuter efficacement plusieurs tches sous pression.
- Excellentes comptences en communication (crite et orale).
- Une solide connaissance de la gestion financire est requise.
- Capacit de travailler de manire indpendante ainsi que dans un environnement d'quipe.
- Doit tre capable de multitche dans un environnement au rythme rapide au sein d'une petite quipe.
