The applicable base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $120,000. The base pay offered will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.

Responsibilities
Participate in delivering impactful solutions for organizations of any size and variety of industries, having a direct impact on their employees.
Work in a collaborative environment on a wide variety of client teams with any number of our Health colleagues.
Support clients in the financial and strategic management of their employee benefit programs through analysis and communication.
Perform calculations related to the costs of employees’ benefit plans and insurance arrangements, using internal tools to price plan design changes and prepare future cost projections.
Develop project management and consulting skills, including managing the quality and timeliness of client deliverables, participating in client calls and meetings and assisting with client‑friendly communications.
Deepen understanding of Health and Benefits products, services, technical tools, vendor markets, underwriting skills, budget and rate setting through training and colleague support.
Perform work related to the actuarial valuation of post‑employment retirement benefits, using Canadian, U.S. and/or international accounting standards and Mercer standards.
Provide accurate and timely data and financial analysis on various projects for medical, dental, life and disability programs.
Validate and compare premiums for group benefit plans under vendor renewals, quotes or benchmarking exercises.
Produce quarterly experience monitoring reports and analyze the impact of any recent changes.
Analyze financial statements of group insurance plans and review the financial agreement to fit client needs.
Analyze cost drivers by reviewing client utilization data and year‑over‑year trends or external benchmarks.
Perform more in‑depth analyses for complex clients as needed.
Perform technical reviews of work prepared by junior team members.
Gather necessary data from vendors or clients and prepare it in required formats for financial analyses.
Work with client teams to develop recommendations and reports based on analysis.
Review amendments, contracts, and booklets.
Qualifications
Previous work‑related experience.
Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a demanding, fast‑paced environment.
Teamwork skills that adapt to quickly changing priorities.
Time‑management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Will be required to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses as required by provincial regulations and Mercer policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Post‑secondary degree or equivalent experience in business, mathematics, statistics, finance or a related field.
Bilingual in French/English.
Familiarity or experience with group insurance benefits (e.g., CEBS GBA designation).
3 to 4 years of relevant experience.
LLQP or equivalent based on province.
