Our client is a Canadian organization operating in the medical product distribution industry. The company is seeking to strengthen its financial leadership to ensure rigor in accounting operations, optimize financial performance, and reinforce internal controls.

The Controller will act as a strategic partner to the President and play a key role in financial governance, risk management, and continuous improvement of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Lead the budgeting process and analyze financial variances
  • Analyze profitability by product, customer, and distribution channel to identify improvement levers
  • Monitor pricing programs, discounts, rebates, and complex contractual arrangements
  • Implement strong internal controls and financial policies
  • Manage cash flow and banking relationships
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process, as well as the annual audit file
  • Manage foreign currency exposure and related financial risks
  • Act as a financial advisor to the President and senior leadership team
  • Supervise, engage, and develop the finance and accounting team

  • Skills and qualifications :

  • CPA designation
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in a distribution environment
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (Tecsys is an asset)
  • Experience managing retail, online, and institutional sales transactions, as well as related contractual practices
  • Essential bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written)
  • Strong analytical skills, persuasive communicator
  • Results-driven mindset with strong numerical aptitude
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
