Senior Financial Analyst – Accounting Policies Group

We currently have an opportunity within our Accounting Policies Group (APG) team.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key advisory role in complex accounting matters requiring in-depth IFRS research and interpretation. You will also contribute to important initiatives such as accounting for acquisitions, implementing new IFRS standards, and ensuring the consistency and accuracy of CGI’s financial reporting. This position is based in Montreal, Canada, under a hybrid work model, and is ideal for a professional with experience in public accounting—particularly from a Big 4 firm—looking to grow their career within industry.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Advise Business Units and Corporate Departments (Consolidation, Tax, Treasury, Legal, etc.) on technical accounting matters and provide timely guidance;
• Conduct IFRS research and contribute to the development and updating of accounting policies aligned with CGI’s business practices;
• Participate in the review of the notes to the quarterly and year-end consolidated financial statements to ensure compliance with IFRS disclosure requirements;
• Develop a good understanding of CGI’s accounting systems and processes to support accurate and efficient accounting of acquisitions and other corporate transactions;
• Coordinate and review the translation of key financial documents (financial statements, MD&A, press releases) between French and English;
• Deliver accounting policy training sessions to CGI’s finance community;
• Assist the Manager and Director – Accounting Policies on various ad hoc projects and accounting initiatives.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• University degree in accounting;
• CPA designation (or advanced progress toward completion);
• 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally from a Big 4 or national accounting firm;
• Solid understanding of IFRS and financial statement presentation;
• Experience or interest in accounting for acquisitions and system integration;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English;
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (especially Excel);
• Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines;
• Strong sense of initiative, curiosity, and collaboration.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,–$,. This role is an existing vacancy.
