As a tax lawyer, you will work in a stimulating environment on a wide range of complex matters involving taxation, corporate law and estate law.
Responsibilities   Advise and assist clients on the legal and tax aspects of their estate planning, business operations, purchase or sale transactions, corporate reorganizations, real estate transactions or intergenerational transfers
Draft legal opinions in taxation
Draft memoranda describing the recommended steps and their legal and tax impacts
Draft the legal documentation required for tax or estate planning transactions
Draft various commercial contracts
Prepare estate planning documents such as wills, powers of attorney and trusts
Structure and document corporate transactions, particularly for complex estates
Contribute to tax research and maintaining internal knowledge related to taxation
Participate in drafting educational or explanatory content on tax and estate topics

What We Are Looking For   Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec
Two to five years of relevant experience in taxation
Specialized training in taxation such as a master’s degree, DESS or CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course, or equivalent experience
Intellectual curiosity and strong interest in taxation
Proficiency in French and English, spoken and written
Excellent legal drafting skills
Team oriented mindset, professionalism and proactive attitude
