ObjectiveThe Director of Global Logistics & Distribution is responsible for leading and optimizing Joseph Ribkoff’s end-to-end global logistics strategy. This executive role oversees operations at the Montreal Distribution Centre, manages our 3PL partners, and drives the expansion of our international distribution network.
Accountable for global inbound and outbound transportation, contract negotiation, and performance governance across carriers and logistics partners. The Director ensures operational excellence, cost efficiency, and strong service levels while building scalable infrastructure to support our wholesale and direct-to-consumer growth worldwide.
A strategic leader, the Director brings deep expertise in global freight, distribution network design, and third-party logistics management, while inspiring and developing a high-performing teams across logistics and operations functions.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Montreal Distribution Centre, ensuring best-in‑class performance across fulfillment, inventory management, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Own the governance and success of the 3PLs partnerships, driving accountability to service levels, cost efficiency, and long‑term scalability through strong performance management and commercial oversight.
- Design and expand a global distribution network that supports international growth, leading feasibility studies, RFPs, site selection, implementation, and systems integration.
- Build strong financial business cases (CAPEX, OPEX, ROI, service impact).
- Define and execute the global inbound and outbound transportation strategy across all modes, optimizing routes from manufacturing origin to customer while balancing cost, speed, and service.
- Lead complex negotiations and cultivate high‑value partnerships with carriers and logistics providers, ensuring competitive rates, operational reliability, and risk mitigation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing logistics and operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to strengthen leadership capability within the team.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution leadership within complex, global environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or a related discipline is required; an MBA is an asset.
- Deep expertise in global freight management across international air and ocean transportation.
- Proven success leading and optimizing multi‑site, international distribution networks.
- Extensive experience in third‑party logistics (3PL) governance, strategic vendor partnerships, and contract negotiation.
- Demonstrated track record in the design, launch, and scaling of international distribution centers.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage P&L impact, develop budgets, and drive cost optimisation initiatives.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams in a logistics or operations environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Ability to build engaged, accountable, and results‑driven teams.
- Strong people leadership capabilities with a track record of building high‑performance teams.
- Experience driving change‑management initiatives within growing, international organizations.
- Experience in the apparel or fashion industry is considered a strong asset.
