Lead impactful political journalism at Parliament Hill with Village Media as the Bureau Chief of The Trillium. This role demands an experienced journalist passionate about holding governments accountable.
As the Bureau Chief, you will guide a team in delivering significant federal political news across Ontario while collaborating closely with the provincial team at Queen’s Park. Your seasoned experience will enable you to train reporters and shape coverage that resonates with readers and political insiders alike.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a team reporting federal political news stories
• Develop the Ottawa bureau and recruit reporting staff
• Train and mentor reporters in source development
• Participate in peer-editing for accuracy and style
• Represent Village Media as an ambassador in Ottawa
Requirements:
• 7-10 years in journalism covering federal politics
• Leadership experience in a newsroom setting
• Proven record of breaking accountability-focused stories
• Willingness to work some nights and weekends
• Reside in or near the National Capital Region
