The Role
We’re seeking a passionate and driven Co-Founder & Director of Operations to join the leadership team of a growing non-profit film organization entering its third year.
Our mission is to showcase socially impactful films with a global reach, connecting audiences, creators, and communities. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Founder and department leads to scale operations, strengthen partnerships, and refine workflows, helping shape the next chapter of the Montreal International Film Festival.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations and organizational planning across key departments:
Sales, Communications & Events, Marketing, HR, Finance, and Legal
Develop and manage sales, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities
Coordinate festival logistics and lead volunteer management initiatives
Help design and implement long-term growth strategies
Represent the organization at local and international events
Experience in sales, business development, or a strong background in film, events, or cultural organizations (operations, producing, or management)
Strong initiative, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Based in Québec (Montreal preferred)
Passion for film, community impact, and creative collaboration
Availability of 15 hours/week initially
Compensation StructureThis is a partnership role for a highly motivated individual who wants to take real ownership and help lead the next phase of the organization’s growth.
The first three months will serve as a trial period, structured on a commission basis based on progress.
During this period, compensation will evolve into revenue sharing, a stipend and board-level participation as the organization grows and expands.
This structure is ideal for someone who truly wants to be a co-founder, someone passionate about building something meaningful from the ground up, shaping its direction, and making it their own.
