Tunisia – Advocacy and Campaign Development Advisor

This is a 3-month mandate based in Tunisia in Sidi-Bouzid, with travels to Kasserine.

The mandate is part of the Equality in Action Voluntary Cooperation Programme (PCV), which is being rolled out in 12 countries and 3 regions over an eight-year period ). The PCV aims to increase the involvement of local partners in the countries of intervention in inclusive, innovative and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organisations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalised people, to claim and exercise their rights.

Oxfam puts the rights of women, girls and vulnerable and marginalised people at the heart of all its actions.

Responsibilities

Provide training on advocacy and the development of awareness-raising campaigns.

Develop training tools and materials that can serve as resources for the organisations, particularly in the event of staff changes.

Support the associations in identifying and designing advocacy initiatives, in line with the strategies of both organisations.

Support both associations in implementing the identified awareness-raising campaigns, as a practical exercise.

Qualifications

Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;

Hold a university degree in communication, advocacy or any other relevant field;

Have at least two years’ relevant professional experience in an NGO or in international cooperation, including training in adult education;

Be able to adapt to an uncertain and changing environment and have a high tolerance for uncertainty;

Be proficient in Microsoft Office;

Be fluent in spoken and written French (mandatory). Fluency in Arabic would be an asset.
