Community Recreation Coordinator

Position Overview

Primarily remotely except for weekly meeting.

Full time with flexibility in schedule.

Salary: $17 per hour.

We are seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded Community Recreation Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging programming for seniors, families, and children.

• Senior Programs: Plan and coordinate a weekly recreation program for seniors based on their interests and needs. Develop and facilitate workshops and special activities for the Community Lunch program. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Youth & Family Programs: Collaborate with the Youth Program Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities for the Kids Club. Assist with seasonal family events and intergenerational programming.
• Communications & Promotion: Design promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and newsletters. Create and schedule engaging social media content to promote programs and events. Help maintain an active and informative presence across communication channels.

• Experience in community programming, recreation, or a related field.
• Strong planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with both seniors and children is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design (e.g., Canva or similar tools).
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
• CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.
• Must be between the ages of 18-30 and is funded by Canadian Summer Youth Employment grants.

Flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends, depending on programming needs.
