About Island Gold District:Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Resource Geologist, the Resource Geologist is responsible for the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of short- and long-term geological resource models across the Island Gold District. This primarily includes support of the Island Gold underground operation and support of the Magino open pit operation as required. Success in this role is demonstrated through the consistent contribution of well documented geological models that support reconciliation efforts and effective mine planning decisions across the district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain geological and grade block models for underground and open pit operations (as needed).
  • Integrate drilling, sampling, and production data into short-term and long-term resource models.
  • Support reconciliation between block models, grade control, and production results.
  • Assist with district-level resource updates and internal reporting.
  • Ensure QA/QC standards are met and maintained.
  • Support internal reviews of resource models in alignment with Alamos standards and established practices.
  • Collaborate with Mine Planning, Production, and Exploration teams.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
  • 3-5 years experience in a mining environment.
  • 1-2 years experience in a resource geology or resource modeling role.
  • Experience with Datamine, Acquire, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Eligibility for GIT or P.Geo registration preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • 7x7 or 14x14 work schedule
  • Office and underground work environment.

Physical requirements:

  • May be required to manipulate core boxes and sample bags which can weigh 40-50 pounds.
  • Periodic travel underground.
  • Has obtained the necessary certifications to work in an underground mine environment.
