Entry-Level Ecologist

Position: Entry-Level Ecologist at Stantec
Join Stantec's passionate team as a Junior Terrestrial Ecologist in Ottawa and Thunder Bay. Engage in vital ecological assessments and fieldwork focused on species conservation and habitat preservation.

This entry-level role is part of the Ecosystems Team at Stantec, where your responsibilities will include conducting wildlife surveys, compiling field data, and producing assessment reports. You will be supported by experienced ecologists and work collaboratively to contribute to important environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct natural heritage assessments and background reviews

• Collect and analyze ecological data during fieldwork

• Prepare reports for planning projects and assessments

• Engage in preparation of conservation applications

• Travel for field assignments, including field seasons and weekends

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or similar discipline

• At least 1 year of related experience preferred

• Valid Class G driver's license required

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to adapt to changing work environments
