Contribute to First Nations advocacy as a Senior Policy Analyst on Artificial Intelligence with the Assembly of First Nations. This role involves research, policy development, and analysis linked to AI implications.
Reporting to the Director of Languages and Learning, the Senior Policy Analyst will focus on AI governance and First Nations data sovereignty. You will prepare reports and briefings, making recommendations to shape AI-related policies through collaboration with stakeholders. This position also requires occasional travel and adaptability to dynamic circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather and analyze statistical information on AI priorities
• Develop policy recommendations from research findings
• Assist in preparing AFN resolutions and policy papers
• Coordinate materials for various meetings and committees
• Attend and document notes for Chiefs-in-Assembly meetings
Requirements:
• Post secondary degree in relevant fields and 5-7 years of experience
• Strong familiarity with AI and its impact on First Nations
• Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting
• Proven experience engaging with First Nations and government officials
• Bilingualism in English and French, or knowledge of a First Nations language is an asset
