Job SummaryReporting to the Site Superintendent, the Underground Supervisor is responsible for overseeing front-line employees and ensuring all contracting operations are carried out in a safe, productive, and efficient manner.
Schedule & Location- 7/7 or 14/14 rotation
- Night shift (11-hour shifts)
- Fly-in or drive-in site
- Drug and alcohol testing required
- Client-approved site access required
The Underground Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining and reinforcing site safety programs in collaboration with the Safety Department.
Responsibilities include:
- Continuously promoting and reinforcing a strong safety culture through coaching, communication, and field presence
- Ensuring crews are properly supported with the tools, information, and resources required to complete work safely and efficiently
- Upholding the “5-Point Safety System” and “Internal Responsibility System” to achieve optimal performance without compromising safety
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with safe work procedures and that work areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free
- Maintaining compliance with company safety and environmental policies, as well as applicable legislation including the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Environment
- Identifying, reporting, and correcting unsafe conditions or practices and communicating concerns promptly to management
