Your Future Role
As a PI T&C Technician, you will play a key role in the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of rail vehicles. You will work closely with technicians, supervisors, work leaders, and managers to support the safe and reliable operation of rolling stock while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Use power and hand tools, including socket sets, open-end wrenches, wire cutters, and wire strippers.
Accurately measure and convert dimensions using both imperial and metric systems.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, work instructions, wire lists, travelers, and technical documentation.
Perform dismantling, repair, rebuilding, installation, testing, and commissioning activities on transit vehicle electrical systems and components.
Operate portable testing stations to perform vehicle and train testing activities.
Follow Operational Method Standards and approved maintenance procedures.
Safely use electrical testing and maintenance equipment under limited supervision.
Operate crimping equipment, including AMP, hydraulic, and Veam crimpers for electrical pins and plugs.
Assemble electrical components and wiring harnesses to quality standards with no defects.
Compare wire lists and travelers to assigned work and report discrepancies promptly.
Use a PC and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot vehicle systems and faults.
Utilize multimeters and other testing equipment to verify vehicle operation and performance.
Maintain effective communication with co-workers, work leaders, supervisors, and managers.
Support a clean, organized, and safe work environment by maintaining work areas, stations, and trains.
Complete daily reporting and documentation as required.
Adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements, including night, weekend, and shift work.
Comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and all applicable site procedures.
Other relevant responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Electrical or Mechanical Technician Diploma, Degree, or Certification.
Experience working as an Electrical Technician, Mechanical Technician, or in a similar technical role.
Ability to read, write, and follow technical procedures and work instructions.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Working knowledge of electrical testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.
Experience using electrical testing devices such as multimeters and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willingness to receive training in multiple disciplines within the rolling stock process.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Basic computer skills and comfort using electronic diagnostic and reporting tools.
