Caron Equipment Inc. is currently seeking experienced and motivated Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our growing maintenance team.

This role offers the opportunity to work both at the Cote Mine site and at our in-town shop in Timmins, supporting the servicing, diagnosis, and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment. Whether in the field or in the shop, your skills will contribute to keeping our equipment running efficiently and safely across all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment, both in the field and in the shop.

Troubleshoot issues involving hydraulic, electrical, engine, and mechanical systems on a variety of construction and mining equipment.

Complete scheduled maintenance, inspections, and field service calls to minimize equipment downtime.

Collaborate with site supervisors, maintenance planners, and equipment operators to prioritize and execute repair work.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and equipment history through company maintenance tracking systems.

Always uphold safety standards, following company and site-specific policies and procedures.

Maintain service tools and equipment, including proper use of service trucks and shop resources.

Adapt to changing work environments and travel between shop and site as required.

Qualifications:

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (421A or equivalent) required.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair in both field and shop settings.

Strong working knowledge of diagnostic tools, OEM standards, and repair methods.

Familiarity with equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, etc.

Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Comfortable working outdoors and in remote areas as well as in a shop environment.

Valid Class G driver’s license (DZ license or higher is an asset).

Current safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights, First Aid) are considered an asset.
