Summary The 310T Truck & Coach Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of company vehicles to meet both Ministry and company standards. The successful candidate’s expertise in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, combined with strong problem-solving skills, will ensure reliable fleet performance and exceptional service throughout the Ottawa region.
Responsibilities Complete the service maintenance and repairs of all Company vehicles to both Ministry and Company standards and procedures.
Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
Repair waste vehicles and trucks, troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems, and perform road tests on serviced vehicles/equipment.
Complete work orders using available tools and equipment.
Read and interpret manufacturer/operator manuals.
Maintain accurate service records and files for vehicle maintenance.
Respond to “on-road” service calls as required.
Conduct preventative vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and work areas comply with safety policies and regulations at all times.
Additional projects and duties as assigned.
Competencies & Qualifications Adhere to Miller Waste safety protocols and be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Experience diagnosing and resolving faults, with hands‑on expertise in repairing and maintaining hydraulic and electrical systems.
Successful candidates must hold and maintain a valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician licence.
Must have at least a valid 'G' Driver’s Licence, DZ Licence would be an asset.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced work environment and work effectively within a team.
You must be flexible and available to work outside of the regular schedule when there are delays in the truck schedule; you may be required to work outside regular scheduled hours and on rare occasions, weekend work.
