Work as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Matrix in remote Nunavut camps. This role focuses on maintaining surface fleet equipment for safe and efficient operations every shift.
Matrix seeks motivated Heavy Duty Mechanics for winter ice road maintenance in Bathurst Inlet. You'll ensure all equipment is production-ready, handling preventive and corrective maintenance while working on loaders, dozers, excavators, and more. A strong background in CAT systems and cold-weather operations is beneficial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
• Maintain diesel powertrain components and hydraulic systems
• Complete accurate inspections and documentation
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and plan shutdowns
Requirements:
• Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
• 3-5 years in mining equipment maintenance
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Proficient with CAT ET and CAT SIS
• Valid safety certifications for site compliance
