Position Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) – Part‑time at The Homestead at Montrose, a Housing & Healthcare subsidiary of Volunteers of America National Services.
Working Hours & CompensationPart‑time; days will vary but generally Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hourly pay: $37.45 – $44.95 based on experience.

- Utilize the nursing process to plan and provide direct care to residents as assigned.
- Plan, direct, and carry out shift routines in assigned nursing unit.
- Observe, direct, and evaluate activities of personnel while serving as "in charge" per the Nurse Practice Act.
- Provide leadership and direction on the assigned unit, modeling positive communication with staff, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Attend nurses, staff, and interdisciplinary meetings; initiate disciplinary action when warranted.
- Monitor and report occupational exposures per facility policy.
- Maintain competency in all required skills and provide compassionate resident care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per MD orders; report drug knowledge and resident responses.
- Document and maintain accurate charting, care plans, and incident reports according to facility policies.
- Follow shift routines, policies, and procedures on vital signs, medication administration, and emergencies.
- Call physicians to report changes in resident condition and update families on resident status.
- Participate in performance evaluations, staffing determinations, and inter‑departmental relationships.
- Attend in‑services, online modules, and committee meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
- Current CPR registration.
- Maintenance of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
- Experience in long‑term care preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving, independent judgment, and initiative.
- Leadership and effective communication with staff, families, and external agencies.
- Ability to prioritize duties and demonstrate customer‑service orientation.
- Clinical competence in nursing assessment of residents.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.
- Team‑player attitude.
