This position's responsibilities include joining together optical fibers, which are used in telecommunications and data networking.

Responsibilities:
- Fiber Optic Splicing:
Efficiently splice and terminate fiber optic cables to ensure optimal performance and minimal signal loss. - Troubleshooting:
Identify and troubleshoot fiber optic issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize service disruptions. - Quality Assurance:
Conduct rigorous quality checks to guarantee that splicing work meets industry standards and our company's high-quality expectations. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of splice locations, cable routes, and other relevant data for future reference. - Safety:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team. - Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on splicing equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition. - Collaboration:
Collaborate with the network engineering and operations teams to coordinate and execute fiber optic projects efficiently.
Requirements:
- Experience:
Proven experience in fiber optic splicing, with a minimum of [X years] of hands-on experience. - Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as FOA (Fiber Optic Association) or equivalent are a plus. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in using splicing equipment, fusion splicing, and OTDR testing. - Attention to Detail:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in splice work. - Safety:
Committed to following safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. - Travel:
Be willing to travel. - Team Player:
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues. - Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including working in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Per diem $60.00 a day
Expected hours: 70-84hr a week
