Job Description & How to Apply Below

Snipps Heating & Air Conditioning | Montrose, CO | Western Slope Service Area

Snipps Heating & Air Conditioning has been serving the Western Slope since 1996 with honest, reliable HVAC service. Based in Montrose, our NATE-certified technicians serve homes and businesses throughout Montrose, Delta, Ouray, San Miguel, Gunnison, San Juan, and Hinsdale counties.

We’re a small, close-knit team, and we’re looking for an experienced Lead Mini Split Installer who can take ownership of installations, lead a helper or apprentice, and deliver quality work from start to finish.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Mini Split Installer to lead residential ductless and multi-zone mini-split installations throughout the Western Slope.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll run installations from start to finish, including mounting equipment, routing and brazing line sets, wiring, evacuating and charging systems, and completing startup and commissioning. You’ll also direct and train a helper or apprentice on each job.

Experience with ducted residential HVAC systems is also valuable, as this role may cross‑cover furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps when dedicated mini‑split work is not scheduled.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead mini‑split installations: Install ductless and multi‑zone systems, including indoor/outdoor units, line sets, insulation, wall penetrations, and condensate drainage.

  • Commission systems: Evacuate and charge refrigerant lines, complete electrical and low‑voltage wiring, and perform startup and system commissioning.

  • Lead the crew: Direct a helper or apprentice, assign tasks, check work, and provide hands‑on coaching.

  • Cross‑cover: Install and service residential furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps as needed.

  • Work with customers: Walk homeowners through their new system, explain operation and basic maintenance, and represent Snipps professionally in their home.

  • Complete documentation: Maintain install checklists, permit documentation, job photos, vehicle organization, and inventory.

  • Maintain quality: Follow manufacturer requirements and applicable Colorado building and electrical codes to ensure installations are completed correctly.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of hands‑on HVAC installation experience

  • Direct experience installing ductless mini‑split and multi‑zone systems

  • EPA Section 608 certification required

  • NATE certification and/or manufacturer‑specific training such as Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu, or LG is preferred

  • Able to read wiring diagrams and manufacturer installation manuals

  • Experienced brazing copper refrigerant lines and troubleshooting startup issues

  • Comfortable leading and mentoring a helper or apprentice

  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurance requirements

  • Comfortable traveling throughout the Western Slope and working in varied mountain weather and elevations

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs and occasionally handle heavier equipment with a partner.

  • Comfortable working on ladders, in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and other tight spaces.

  • Able to stand, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in Colorado’s seasonal heat, cold, and altitude conditions.

Compensation & Schedule

$28–$33/hour
, depending on experience and certifications.

  • Full‑time

  • Monday–Friday, standard installation hours

  • Occasional Saturday or extended hours during peak season

  • Steady, year‑round residential installation work

  • Company vehicle and tools/equipment provided

  • Opportunity to grow into an Install Manager or Supervisor role

Why Join Snipps?

Snipps is a small, close‑knit HVAC company where experienced installers have the opportunity to take ownership of their work and make a real impact on the team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on installation, leading a crew, mentoring others, and taking pride in getting the job done right the first time.

If you’re an experienced mini‑split installer looking for a long‑term opportunity with room to grow, we’d love to hear from you.
