Position OverviewThe Stock Clerk 1 position with the Department of Transportation offers a great opportunity to support important winter maintenance work. In this role, you will help keep essential parts and tools organized so crews can stay ready for any job. Your attention to detail will make a real difference in keeping operations running smoothly. Duties- Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels of commonly used parts and supplies and control the use of specialized tools.
- Ordering Support: Recommend changes to reorder amounts and prepare requisition forms for needed materials.
- Receiving Duties: Receive and inspect incoming items and determine acceptance or rejection before storage.
- Warehouse Operation: Operate the forklift to unload deliveries and move large items safely.
- Work Area Upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
- Seasonal full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Schedule is subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts – 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Telework: This position does not offer telework.
- Graduation from high school; or
- A NY equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
