Asset Accountant

Job Description

• Cap Ex & Cost Tracking: Analyze incoming invoices and expenditures to accurately classify them as Capital Expenditures (Cap Ex) or Operating Expenses (OpEx).
• Month-End Close: Execute month-end and year-end close procedures by preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forward schedules, and financial reports.
• Audit & Compliance: Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, maintaining meticulous documentation to satisfy regulatory and tax requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers, IT, and Operations to monitor Construction-In-Progress (CIP) budgets and project spend.
• Process Improvement: Continuously refine accounting workflows and support ERP enhancements (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Typically 5 to 7+ years of progressive corporate accounting or public accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on fixed assets.
• System Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience using major enterprise resource planning systems (e.g., Oracle Help Center).
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP,
  ASC 842 Accounting
  , and corporate Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls.
