The Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is searching for a Financial Manager/Comptroller II to join our team. The position requires experience in financial accounting, data analysis, auditing, and supervisory or administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Plans, directs, and coordinates fiscal operations and financial accounting functions or assists in the planning and direction of such functions.
- Develops accounting systems and procedures for recording revenues and expenditures; directs the maintenance of accounting records concerning appropriations or other revenues, payroll expenses, supply and equipment purchases, travel expenses, contracting costs, and other financial transactions.
- Plans and directs operational or financial audits and other reviews to ensure financial accountability, ensure compliance with established standards, and enhance agency operating procedures.
- Directs the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Reviews and approves obligations and expenditures as needed.
- Establishes necessary fiscal controls to ensure appropriate accountability for revenues and expenditures.
- Directs the review and preparation of budget work programs; reviews and approves agency budget requests and makes recommendations concerning the state budget.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to demanding and changing timelines.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, integrity and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while building strong relationships with all levels of staff and effectively collaborating, communicating, respecting, and assisting peers.
- Level I:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or a closely related field and five years of experience in professional accounting or auditing or closely related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of professional accounting or auditing experience for each year of the required education. - Level II:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or a closely related field and five years of experience in professional accounting or auditing or closely related work, including two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of professional accounting or auditing experience for each year of the required education.
- Must be willing to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license for operating state-owned vehicles.
- Must be able to pass OSBI and FBI background check.
- A trial period of 12 months will be required.
- Level I: $61,664.94 per year.
- Level II: $75,860.40 per year.
