Up to $41,000.00 per year, based on education and experience.

Position Description

The Customer Assistance Representative III is responsible for maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. This position provides assistance to customers seeking services and information at the county health department, including collecting demographic and billing information, answering phones, filing, appointment scheduling, data entry, and responding to customer questions and needs.

Responsibilities
  • Frontline customer service, handling client/patient registrations, processing WIC benefits, answering telephones, coordinating with other departments, collecting and entering billing information, accepting and documenting payments.
  • Light typing assignments, scheduling appointments, providing general information, filing, maintaining client records, preparing program reports.
  • Daily access to the Oklahoma Health Care Authority Medicaid website to look up eligibility or complete applications for new or reinstated coverage.
  • Maintain records of supplies, materials, expenditures; reconcile departmental records with central records; prepare correspondence, forms, and reports.
  • Initiate and handle correspondence related to special programs or agency policies.
  • Sort and file tasks, answer phone, take messages, disseminate information, manage mail.
  • Enter and retrieve information using computer equipment; proof data and correct errors.
  • Examine and verify reports and documents for completeness and accuracy, following up on discrepancies.
  • Receive or deliver materials and equipment.
  • Be present in the office (essential function).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

One year of clerical office work plus three years of customer service, or one year of customer service plus three years of related work. Equivalent combination of education and experience (30 semester hours of college, including six in business or public administration) may substitute for the required experience.

Willingness and ability to perform all job‑related travel and possess a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge of state laws, rules, accounting principles, business organizations, office practices, business arithmetic, research methods, training principles, supervisory principles, laws. Ability to read and interpret laws, communicate effectively, maintain relationships, apply laws to situations, organize and direct work, construct reports.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work in an office setting, requires talking, standing, walking, reaching, carrying light items, driving. Long periods of sitting, frequent computer and phone use. Requires willingness to perform all job‑related travel, including overnight and weekend travel. Being present at the office is essential.
