Position Summary
The Strategic Proposal Writer is responsible for developing customer-focused, strategically positioned proposal responses. They work on moderately complex proposals for our Public and Labor constituents (brokers/consultants, prospects and customers). The candidate will write and edit in accordance with company brand standards, plain language and internal RFP style guide standards as well as apply research and data gathering skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to be creative, apply personal initiative and must be well organized and able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
An ability to interpret and understand the needs of the customer and work with other team members to create a compelling, well-articulated value proposition that aligns the products and programs we offer with the customer’s strategy is essential to success.
Candidate use the proposal database and established department workflows to respond to questionnaires or ad hoc proposal requests. Work with field organization and subject matter experts to build and maintain strong relationships. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all audiences, resolve problems, prioritize, multi-task, and apply principles of grammar, mechanics, and spelling in written work.
Required Qualifications- 2+ years experience in sales support, marketing, journalism, communications and/or proposal writing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
- Proficient writing skills.
- Proven time management abilities.
- Experience managing multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of the health insurance industry is desired.
- Request For Proposal (RFP) experience.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (HS Diploma + 4 years relevant experience).

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is: $21.10 - $44.99. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
