Overview
IMMY’s Procurement Manager’s main responsibility is to facilitate the purchase of all the goods and services necessary for our business to operate.
This position works closely with the Production Department to develop quotes, communicate raw material arrival dates, forecast purchase dates based on lead time, and coordinate with suppliers to either expedite or delay shipments as necessary.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with contract terms.
- Maintain the purchasing policy and ensure all purchases adhere to it.
- Liaise with Accounts Payable and Production departments.
- Select vendors and place orders for materials or services as needed.
- Request quotes from vendors for multiple departments within the company.
- Track order status to ensure materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates.
- Handle non-supplied items, short orders, overages, and damaged goods.
- Ensure invoices received are sent to Accounts Payable for payment.
- Maintain approved vendor list and ensure all purchases are sourced from approved vendors.
- Conduct annual vendor reviews.
- Maintain records of purchases, shipments, and related matters.
- Work with the Director of Supply Chain to optimize purchasing processes and inventory controls.
- Manage inventory levels to minimize stock outs and reduce total cost of inventory.
- Supervise purchasing activities and ensure compliance with IMMY procedures.
- Design and conduct all purchasing training.
- Maintain and update IMMY policy and procedures as necessary with approval.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Knowledge and understanding of inventory management and controls.
- Knowledge and understanding of purchasing methods.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Fishbowl or other ERP systems.
- Prior purchasing experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and write clear, concise English.
- Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions.
